Careers at Maverick

Maverick is building the future of personal AI — devices that bring the full power of modern artificial intelligence into your home without ever sending your data to the cloud. We are a small, mission-driven team where every person has an outsized impact on the product and the company's direction.

We are not looking for cogs in a machine. We are looking for people who are genuinely excited about the idea that AI hardware can be private, beautiful, and powerful all at once. If that resonates with you, we'd love to talk.

Open Positions

Senior Neural Engine Architect

Department: Hardware  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Design and architect the next generation of our custom neural processing unit. You will define the microarchitecture for our inference engine, work closely with compiler and ML teams to optimize model performance on silicon, and drive key design trade-offs between performance, power, and area. Requires deep experience in ASIC/NPU design and a track record of shipping production silicon.

AI Systems Engineer

Department: AI/ML  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Build the software stack that makes large language models and vision models run efficiently on Maverick's custom hardware. You will work on model optimization, quantization, memory management, and runtime performance tuning. Experience with on-device ML frameworks (Core ML, TFLite, ONNX Runtime) is strongly preferred.

Firmware Engineer

Department: Firmware  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Develop and maintain the firmware that powers Maverick devices, from boot sequence to peripheral drivers to real-time sensor processing. You will work in C/C++ and Rust on bare-metal and RTOS environments, ensuring rock-solid reliability, fast boot times, and secure update mechanisms.

Smart Home Integration Lead

Department: Software  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Own the strategy and implementation for connecting Maverick to the smart home ecosystem — Matter, Thread, Zigbee, HomeKit, Google Home, and Alexa. You will design the integration architecture, build the abstraction layers, and ensure seamless interoperability with hundreds of third-party devices.

Product Designer

Department: Design  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Shape the user experience across Maverick's companion app, on-device interface, and developer tools. You will conduct user research, create wireframes and prototypes, and deliver pixel-perfect designs that embody our philosophy of simplicity and clarity. Strong portfolio showing consumer hardware or system-level design required.

Technical Writer

Department: Content  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Create clear, comprehensive documentation for developers building on the Maverick platform — API references, integration guides, tutorials, and SDK documentation. You will work closely with engineering to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, well-structured content that empowers developers to ship quickly.

Supply Chain Manager

Department: Operations  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Manage end-to-end supply chain operations for Maverick hardware, including component sourcing, supplier relationships, production scheduling, and logistics. You will optimize costs, ensure component availability, and build resilient supply chains that can scale from initial production to mass-market volumes. Experience with consumer electronics manufacturing required.

Developer Relations Engineer

Department: Developer  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Be the bridge between Maverick and the developer community. You will create sample projects, build example agents, run workshops and hackathons, and gather developer feedback to shape the platform's evolution. You are equal parts engineer, educator, and community builder, with a passion for helping developers succeed.

Customer Support Specialist

Department: Support  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Provide world-class support to Maverick customers, helping them with setup, troubleshooting, and getting the most out of their devices. You will be the voice of the customer internally, identifying patterns and advocating for improvements. Strong technical aptitude and genuine empathy for users are essential.

Head of Privacy Engineering

Department: Security  ·  Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote

Lead the privacy engineering function across all Maverick products. You will define the privacy architecture, conduct threat models and privacy impact assessments, implement data minimization and encryption strategies, and ensure compliance with global privacy regulations. This is a senior leadership role with significant influence over product direction.
